The Project…

Luxamo is a luxury interior accessories brand marketing homeware online. The business started from the ground up, with no previous brand or image so we had a lot of fun building something completely from scratch!

Our challenges with Luxamo was that, while the products they sell are beautiful and high quality, they are appealing to a high street consumer. We worked closely with Amy and Julie, mother and daughter managing partners, to create a brand that oozed luxury and high quality without alienating their audience or coming off as ‘too elite’. Both Amy and Julie are very familiar with high quality and wanted a brand that reflected that.

We supplied all the marketing materials for facebook and instagram, and built an incredibly complex e-commerce website from scratch: with a custom built database and stock management system. The design of the website focused on spacial awareness – something that all interior designers must have!

Alongside the website, we also provided Luxamo with hosting, e-mails, ongoing custom graphics and image optimization., SEO and web security. We also provided a photographer for their interior compositions.

Web Design

The website build for Luxamo was enormously complex. From resizing the stock imagery given from suppliers to creating a flowing design that met the brief: there was a lot of leg work! Not least the databse for the information, which was custom built for the company from scratch.

The main challenge with creating a non-conformist design is making sure it looks great across all user interfaces. Mobile web is forever on the rise, and while a website can look stunning on desktop few people use computers for their first contact with a businesses online elements. We constructed something that made shopping with Luxamo easy and fast, but still visually looked stunning and unique across all platforms.

Social Media

With Luxamo it was vital that they had an immediate social media presence. The power of social media is on the rise, and in their particular industry studies show that consumers will buy from companies recommended by friends and family before they turn to the high street. We helped Julie and Amy construct cohesive social media accounts, with custom media to use for the page and a launch campaign that got them over 2000 followers in just 7 days: before the website even went live!
